Terms and Conditions of Use

Users who access the Biodiversity Collections Index (BCI) agree to abide by the following terms and conditions:

All data submitted to BCI (excepting a user's personal contact details) will be considered a gift to the wider community that will henceforth be licensed to all by BCI under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License.
In donating data to BCI users warrant that, to the best of their knowledge, they have rights to gift it.
BCI operates on the basis of good will. All users undertake not to misrepresent themselves or others.
BCI reserves the right to withhold access to web based services to individuals or groups of individuals if the administrators of the system deem it to be necessary for the long term benefit of BCI. In the very unlikely event of this occurring the administrators will present an open, written explanation of why they are taking the action.
BCI will make every attempt to maintain the services associated with the BCI website and distribute data submitted in lines with its stated goals. Neither BCI nor its administrators or funders warrant the data or services to be fit for any particular purpose. Users of services and data do so at their own risk.
BCI reserves the right to change these terms and conditions of use at anytime.

System Status

This web site is currently in the beta phase of development. It should be fully functional but there may be minor issues. Please report problems to the administrator.
